Sources & licenses
groce-eye is an independent static viewer inspired by God's Eye View. It does not expose Jason's credentials or configure paid providers. The interface is original; the globe libraries have their own licenses.
Browser connections
- Fintraffic / Digitraffic public road-weather cameras, Finland. CC BY 4.0. Image capture may precede fetch time; updates are usually around ten minutes.
- USGS earthquakes, last 24 hours. Public government observations, refreshed every five minutes.
- CelesTrak GP orbital elements. Positions are calculated with SGP4; cached for at least two hours per usage guidance.
- NOAA/NWS contiguous-US radar WMS composite reflectivity. Imagery is periodically refreshed, and may be delayed or unavailable.
- Day/night lighting uses the current time and calculated solar position. It is not a live weather observation.
- GeoNames cities over 15,000 population, downloaded October 11, 2026. CC BY 4.0. Names and coordinates are bundled for city search, which does not transmit your search to a geocoding provider.
Additional free connections
- Caltrans CWWP2: documented no-charge camera-data integration. Only Caltrans-hosted HTTPS stills are included. Third-party imagery is excluded. Feed documentation and conditions.
- DriveBC / Government of British Columbia: Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – British Columbia. Only eligible government HighwayCam entries are included. Catalog is bundled; images come directly from DriveBC.
- NOAA/NWS US forecasts and active alerts. Forecast periods are not live weather measurements; no-alert status is unknown if the alert feed fails.
- NASA EONET global natural events: latest point geometry for open events reported within 30 days, up to 100 events. Incomplete and sometimes delayed; not a comprehensive emergency-warning feed.
- NASA GIBS VIIRS SNPP corrected-reflectance daily imagery for yesterday. Clouds are visible in the mosaic. It is not live footage and may have gaps.
- Seattle Fire Department public 911 dispatch records: public-domain official dataset; latest 150 records. Seattle coverage only, Seattle local time. Coordinates rounded to about 1 km, addresses excluded. Dispatch categories are preliminary and do not establish patient condition or incident outcomes.
- DeFlock: external link to reported OpenStreetMap ALPR locations, not access to camera footage.
The camera coverage directory lists all 50 states. A link-only or unverified entry does not imply camera data is absent; direct embedding is held until a usable feed and reuse terms are established. Camera catalogs were acquired October 11, 2026; selected images may update separately. No continuous camera recording or automatic image archiving occurs.
Indiana official video links
TrafficWise’s public list and per-camera media links open without login. groce-eye links to its official player in a separate browser window; it does not host or embed the video. TrafficWise returns X-Frame-Options: DENY and Content-Security-Policy: frame-ancestors none, so its web player cannot appear inside a groce-eye frame. The separate developer XML feed requirement does not apply to ordinary public viewing.
Official location catalogs
Indiana: 749 public metadata entries acquired October 11, 2026 from the same anonymous GraphQL list request used by TrafficWise. 748 official point locations are plotted; one official longitude lies outside Indiana and is withheld without guessing a correction. Its video link remains available from the layer panel. Markers open exact official per-camera media pages. Three individual camera requests independently matched the catalog coordinates and view IDs.
Nevada: 652 public-directory entries acquired October 11, 2026 from the anonymous camera-list request used by Nevada 511. Coordinates come from provider WGS84 geometry; 372 records are classified as Las Vegas. Markers open the provider’s exact camera map permalink. 628 entries have a video flag (358 in Las Vegas); the other entries offer still views. Flags are a metadata snapshot, not a live availability guarantee. No images or stream addresses are copied into these location catalogs. A Las Vegas video was observed playing without login during browser verification.
Map imagery
Welcome-page illustration: NASA Blue Marble 2012, Eastern Hemisphere composite image, NASA/GSFC. Original NASA image and description. This preview is a composite illustration, not a live globe screenshot.
World Imagery tiles: Esri, Maxar, Earthstar Geographics, and the GIS User Community. Provider attribution remains on the map. Bundled fallback: Natural Earth II, supplied with CesiumJS. No Cesium ion or Google Maps token is configured. Satellite imagery is a basemap, not live video.
Desktop-only connections
ADSB.lol aircraft observations (ODbL 1.0), for personal exploration subject to current provider conditions. The local helper handles browser connection restrictions. Additional active-satellite records come from CelesTrak. Anonymous OpenSky is an optional local endpoint; its free access is limited and noncommercial. The viewer does not display an unavailable ship layer or require an AISStream key.
Additional US cameras
14,150 official locations across 12 additional states. Coordinates are publisher WGS84 metadata; camera media plays on official external sites. Counts describe directory snapshots and are not a guarantee of live feeds. Other states remain official map links.
Libraries
CesiumJS 1.134.1: Apache 2.0 license. satellite.js 6.0.1: MIT license. Cesium includes third-party materials and associated notices distributed with its package.
Privacy and availability
Public feeds and imagery are requested from their providers, which receive the visitor's public IP. There is no account system, analytics, microphone permission, or location permission in groce-eye. Orbital/camera metadata may be cached locally to reduce provider requests. No secret keys are bundled. Public data coverage, limits, and availability vary; layer failures are shown rather than replaced with invented live activity.
